Josh Curlett

President & CEO

Josh Curlett was exposed to technology development from a young age. He grew up in Texas, spending his childhood building and prototyping new, patentable ideas with his father in their garage.

needs were funded, growth funds managed, staffing start-upsJosh spent his 20’s searching for his calling; he spent a few years in college, ran a fledgling entertainment company and worked for various technology start-ups in both the energy and medical sectors. Through this collective experience, he observed how addressed, intellectual property developed, prototypes engineered and reporting procedures with regulatory bodies properly followed.

In 2009, Josh’s brothers came to him with an idea to develop technology for the oil and gas industry and he’s been applying his hard earned skills and experience as their company’s leader ever since. Under his guidance, CLEANTEK Industries has successfully developed, patented and marketed three technologies that are a step change in their respective categories.

As the company’s global presence evolves, its caretaker remains dedicated to the pursuit of innovation and being an ambassador for exciting change for the energy industry and beyond.

Josh was a finalist for the EY Entrepreneur Of The Year™ 2016 Awards in the Prairies.

Jesse Curlett

Vice President, Operations

The day after high school graduation, Jesse Curlett headed North. He didn’t have a job lined up but he knew Alberta was where he needed to be if he was going to make enough to afford law school, the original plan. After discovering a deep love for field work, Jesse’s plans changed. He started as a roughneck in Nordegg, for Beaver Drilling and then became a driller with AKITA Drilling, meanwhile founding and developing CLEANTEK Industries with his brothers. At just 24 years old, Jesse became a consultant with Cenovus and in March 2012, moved to be full time to CLEANTEK.

His impressive climb through the ranks has been incorporated into his present-day hiring practices, with the belief that the chances taken on him, when he was inexperienced, opened doors for him to discover his life’s passion – seeing the potential of CLEANTEK fully realized.

Fort St. John office, he loves developing relationships with clients at a CLEANTEK’sCurrently based predominantly in the field at grass roots level.

Jesse was a finalist for the EY Entrepreneur Of The Year™ 2016 Awards in the Prairies.

Hugues Wanlin

Vice President, Technology Development

Born in the area of Belgium famous for the Battle of the Bulge, Hugues Wanlin grew up far away from Canada. Nevertheless, he was only 10 years old when he started dreaming about living in the Rocky Mountains. The youngest of 5 children, Hugues says it was his lack of natural athletic ability that first brought his inventive imagination to life.

Graduating with both an Internal Combustion Engine degree (Belgium) and Bachelor of Science degree (England), Hugues began his professional journey working to design and develop engine dynamometers for the world of car racing. After gaining experience working on the professional circuit, he started his own company – HW Racing Engines - designing engines for cars, motorcycles and F1 JetSkis; ultimately winning 8 titles for his creations. He then began a 15 year, storied career with globally renowned Delphi Automotive, during which he accomplished 40 records of invention, won the President’s award for Intellectual Property Excellence and was inducted into the Innovation Hall of Fame. He also published a paper for the SAE World Congress, regarding Direct Injection Gasoline Engine Design.

In 2007, the call from the Rocky Mountains became too strong to ignore and Hugues and his family headed West. Shortly afterwards, Hugues patented a drilling mud enhanced recovery system and as co-owner of Rundle Sport, designed and patented the Rundle Rollerski. He initially wanted to work with CLEANTEK Industries on a consultant basis, but upon discovering it to be the perfect environment for him to invent, came on board full time in 2014.

Hugues is settled in Canmore with his wife and 2 children.
